Yin Yoga Class

Are you moving too fast? Doing too many things at one time? Too much "mind chatter" or just want to slow down. Yin yoga can provide an antidote for this. This class will guide you through a series of poses that are primarily done sitting and lying down. The poses are held for 2-5 minutes at a time to allow connective tissues (fascia, ligaments) to soften, lengthen and lubricate. A yin yoga practice compliments a yang practice and allows for a more balanced approach to life.

Join us the last Friday & the 2nd Sunday of every month

Transformational Breath Class

fabian-moller-gI7zgb80QWY-unsplash.jpg

Breathwork is an active meditation practice which allows meditaters to get out of the chatter of the mind and get within their bodies, connecting with their internal energy. Often it will have a “cleansing” effect. Come open minded to try something new, and expect to leave feeling lighter and more in tune with your spirit.

$22 to drop-in or FREE for members

Instructor: Rebecca Parker

Rebecca is originally from Long Island, where she attended a Friends School, and was profoundly affected by the tenants of Quakerism. Her core values are informed by this, specifically the notion that inner light is within each of us. After struggling with depression, anxiety, and other physical ailments she began searching for wholistic healing tools and discovered Breathwork. She worked with many facilitators, to heal herself and then decided she wanted to share this tool with others and trained with Erin Telford in 2017. Rebecca’s practice is deeply rooted in the belief of lifelong learning. She constantly attends events, workshops and works with other healers. She is a published author and is currently working on pieces surrounding the the science of Breathwork. As a Breathwork facilitator, she is focused on creating a light-hearted, fun and supportive environment. She applauds her clients showing up for themselves and being open. My goal is for my clients to leave feeling lighter, clearer and more connected to spirit.

Chakra Balancing Workshop

54279081_2348253508744406_3008907281300455424_n.jpg

Join us for a two hour energy centering experience.

Chakras are energy centers located throughout the entire body. Each acupressure point is an energy center. The seven chakras control different parts of the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional bodies. The chakras are essentially part of the endocrine system. When one or more of the chakras is out of balance, energy cannot flow freely and evenly throughout the body. This in turn can lead to ailments, both physical and emotional.

Workshop will include a one hour yin yoga practice to explore the subtle body system of the seven chakras. Followed by a one hour Gong Sound Bath to balance the Chakras and allow them to come close to their most natural state.

  1. Strengthening and stability drills for the shoulders and core

  2. Discussion of range-of-motion and flexibility in the shoulders that support proper alignment in these inversions

Carolyn Mahon

Carolyn is a local resident who was first introduced to hypnosis as a teen.  Although she was always a good student, Carolyn experienced extreme academic anxiety that was dramatically affecting all areas of her life- causing inability to sleep, weight loss, shying away from socializing in favor of studying, etc.  Through hypnosis she finally felt relief from the constant drain of anxious thoughts.  As an adult, she began working in complementary therapies with animals- equine massage, reiki and chakra work with animals of all kinds and interspecies communication.  Often the animals were reflecting what their human companions were experiencing.  Remembering how hypnosis helped her, Carolyn became a hypnosis practitioner and looks forward to opening hearts and minds to the power of hypnosis.

Sound Therapy: Singing Bowls & Gongs

Soung Healing Oyster Bay

“Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life” ~ Ludwig van Beethoven

If every sound is vibration and if the vibration touches each and every cell of our body, we can understand that we don't perceive sound only with the ears, but with every cell in our body.

Some benefits of Sound Therapy:

  • Stress reduction

  • Drops you into an effortless state of relaxation.

  • Helps to recover after illness, traumas and invasive medical treatments.

  • Helps to cope with life's challenges.

  • Improves sleep.

  • Reduces anxiety.

  • Can be transformative in helping you to unblock emotions.

In a typical gong bath setting, you lay down on mats with a pillow and blanket over you; close your eyes and just listen to the sound of the gong washing over you. Within 20 mins your body relaxes. Your body will do what it needs, from sleeping to having visualisations. The session is 90 minutes long. You often feel like 2 minutes have passed or a few hours
have passed. You wake feeling energized.
