Q&A with Alie
Alie earned her Master’s degree in Education in 1998 and has been a school counselor in the Carle Place School District for the past 17 years. Alie was introduced to yoga by a good friend in 2005 who suggested it would be a great stress reliever and she was hooked from her very first class! Combining her passion for yoga and love of children, in 2008, Alie earned her certification to teach kids yoga through the Yoga Rocks! Kids teacher training program. Having a strong desire to immerse herself more deeply in her yoga practice, Alie also earned her 200 hour adult yoga teaching certification from Yogaworks in 2009.
Alie currently teaches adult classes at Absolute Yoga and has helped establish children’s yoga programs at local dancing schools and libraries. Family yoga has become a passion of Alie’s as well. Guiding family members through partner poses and play is a great bonding experience for them and so much fun.
In 2013, Alie became a teacher trainer for the Yoga Rocks! Kids program. Teaching other like-minded adults about the benefits of yoga for children has been an exciting and fulfilling role for Alie. Alie is currently working on completing her 300 hour adult teacher training certification through Simplicity Yoga in Kings Park.
