About Our Studio

Owner, Amy Garvey started Oyster Bay Yoga so that our community could have a place to practice yoga that didn’t involve competitiveness, comparison, and judgement. We truly welcome ALL fitness levels, and ALL walks of life. There’s a place for you here, we promise.

When you try out your first class, you’ll see everyone making choices that work for their bodies, and practicing in a way that feels good for THEM. No pressure to turn yourself into a pretzel, unless you love the feeling!

You’ll meet our amazing instructors: experienced, inspiring, and each with their own love of yoga to share with you.

We’ve got plenty of classes for beginners, or lifelong beginners - this is what sets us apart from other studios in the area. With room to grow your practice when you’re ready.

We offer 30+ weekly group classes in-studio, or livestream.

FAQs

What should I wear?

  • Comfortable, athletic clothes that move with you. You do not need to own specific "yoga" clothes to feel comfortable in class. T-shirt or tank top and pants that stretch are generally best. Men will often wear sweatpants, or shorts with compression shorts underneath. Bare feet are encouraged, and no shoes are allowed beyond the curtain.

What should I bring to class?

  • All you need is yourself. If you have a mat of your own, please bring it with you. If not, we have some you can borrow here. You are also welcome to bring a water bottle. If you have blocks, blankets, straps, or other props of your own, you are welcome to bring those as well, but we have anything you would need here to borrow as well.

Where do I park?

  • Free 2-hour street parking is usually available, but if you have trouble, there are free public lots across the street from the studio (behind Taby’s) with entrances on Audrey & South Street, or behind Southdown Coffee with an entrance on West Main Street, or behind The Homestead with entrances on East Main Street & Summit Street. All are a short walk to the studio.
