While living in East Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer, committing to a personal yoga practice kept me physically healthy, emotionally well, and spiritually grounded.  I can still see the morning light in the room where I practiced connecting body with breath to calm the fluctuations of the mind.  Though uncovered during challenging times, I am grateful to have found the perennial place of peace and calm residing within me.  On those powerful days, I knew I wanted to share the transformative self-care experience with others.

With every opportunity to teach, I am reminded of the gift yoga provides:  an opportunity to slow down, to tune out the world, to tune into the self, and even to go beyond.  Since completing a 200-hour yoga teacher training at the Funky Om nearly ten years ago, I have enjoyed offering classes that are strong and mindful, where I encourage practitioners to hold poses, consider their alignment, and deepen their breath.  Ever curious and a perpetual learner, I have pursued certifications in Yin and Restorative Yoga, Trauma-Informed Teaching, yoga with children, and am generally on the lookout for more opportunities to dive deeper into the discipline.  My personal practice has evolved to incorporate the devotional aspects of the tradition, becoming more connected to meditation (inspired by a ten-day silent Vipassana sit) as well as chanting.

Angela Loomis

E-RYT 500

Angela is a lifelong learner and a teacher at heart. She is passionate about yoga philosophy, breathwork, and movement, using her personal practice—especially flowing into arm balances and inversions—to uplift her mind, body, and spirit. With a background in education, she structures her classes like a curriculum, building on monthly themes and peak poses to create a thoughtful and progressive journey for her students. She also weaves yoga philosophy into asana practice, offering a strong intention that guides students both on and off the mat. During Savasana, you may hear the soothing sounds of her crystal singing bowls, adding an extra layer of healing and peace.

Outside of her weekly vinyasa classes, Angela is a 200-hour yoga teacher trainer, who specializes in teaching beginner yoga, somatic movement, and chair yoga, reinforcing her belief that yoga is accessible to all. Her mission is to uplift and empower students, helping them realize they already have everything they need to live a happy, joy filled life.

Chelsea Wallander

RYT 200

Chelsea began her yoga journey in 2014, and it quickly became a cornerstone of her life as she experienced the profound physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual benefits of the practice. Ever since she realized the transformative effect that yoga has had - and continues to have - on her, she’s dreamed of becoming a yoga teacher! Chelsea studied her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Always-at-Aum Yoga School. A school teacher by day, Chelsea’s passion is learning and teaching, and truly believes her purpose in life is to support and encourage others in their growth. Chelsea enjoys guiding students through creative, fun, and uplifting flows combined with restorative and yin-inspired postures to cool down. She is passionate about creating well-rounded, illuminating classes that incorporate multiple limbs of yoga, self-reflection, and self-discovery.
