November 2026 at Oyster Bay Yoga
Tenacity
Dear Oyster Bay Yogis,
Tenacity is about continuing to show up, even when the path ahead is uncertain or change is on the horizon. In yoga, we cultivate this steady effort by returning to our breath, meeting challenges with patience, and staying grounded in what matters most. Our practice reminds us that, while circumstances may shift, the strength and wisdom we build along the way will remain with us. As we move through different seasons of life, we can trust in our ability keep moving forward, one breath at a time.
All my best,
Amy
Pose of the Month
Garudasana: Eagle Pose
This month at the studio we breakdown
Garudasana: Eagle Pose.
Learn how best to practice this pose in any class all month long!
Sutra of the Month
Yoga is not just about what we do on the mat, but the consistent effort we bring to our practice, both on and off it. Through patience, dedication, and returning to the present moment again and again, we cultivate greater stability and inner peace. It’s a reminder that progress doesn’t come from perfection, but from showing up with intention and commitment.

Pelvic Care for the Embodied Woman
Sunday, November 8th
12:30-2:30pm
with Eliza Tappan
A women's circle and guided workshop on tending to the womb, belly, and pelvis as the center of female health
Painful periods. Bloating that won't quit. Leaking when you sneeze or jump. Painful sex. Feeling like your body is a stranger. We were taught to see these as part of being a woman, or part of aging, or having children, or, or, or… They're common, but common isn't the same as normal, and there's so much more you can do than you've been told.
This two-hour workshop and women's circle gives you practical tools and lifestyle practices to care for your pelvic and abdominal health. It's for women living with:
Menstrual pain, including PCOS, endometriosis, and fibroids
Pelvic pain
Prolapse symptoms
Hormonal imbalance
Fertility and pregnancy concerns
Digestive pain and dysfunction
A sense of disconnection from the womb or body
So many of us carry these experiences without anyone to share them with. We'll gather as a multi-generational circle of women to connect from the heart, learn about our bodies, and practice tools you can start using right away.
What we'll cover:
Sharing & Connection: A space to be witnessed and heard.
Foundational Pelvic Anatomy: Walk out excited and empowered about "what is actually going on in there?!"
Pelvic Position: How to position your pelvis when sitting, walking, and exercising to support your pelvic floor.
Breath Mechanics: How to breathe without putting pressure on your pelvis, why it matters for prolapse and other pelvic conditions, plus hands-on feedback.
Castor Oil Packing: How to do it tomorrow, and how it can support your digestive and reproductive health.
Vulva Steaming: How to steam safely, and how it can support your hormonal, uterine, vaginal, and bladder health.
Who it's for: Women of every age and life stage. No experience needed.
What to bring: Comfortable clothing you can move and breathe in.
About Eliza: Eliza Tappan is a therapeutic Pilates instructor and bodyworker specializing in women's pelvic and abdominal care. Her practice is Womb Continuum Care (elizatappan.com).

Intentional Listening Circle
Sunday, November 22nd
12:30-2:00pm
with Kaitlyn Pawlukojc
"I will ask you questions, I will try to understand, and if you give me your story, I will hold it in my hands . . . " Revolutionary Love, Ani DiFranco
Listening is an act of compassion -- for our own selves as well as for one another. In the practice of deep listening, we pause, become present to what is, and connect in new ways. The intention is to listen with the "ears of your heart."
When we speak aloud our stories, the words and emotions shared weave our lives together. This helps us remember that we are not alone and that we can learn from one another. The encouragement is to add your uniquely colored thread to the tapestry.
Please join us once a month to engage in loving listening as we grow our community together. The invitation is to bring what you have and ask for what you need. All are welcome!

Awaken Your Radiant Body: A 90-Minute Kundalini & Gong Journey
Sunday, December 6th
12:30-2:00pm
with Martha Flanagan
Have you ever asked yourself, "What exactly is Kundalini?"
It is often called the yoga of awareness. Unlike other styles, Kundalini is a fast-acting technology that combines dynamic breathwork, rhythmic movement, mudras, and sacred mantras to awaken the dormant energy at the base of your spine and elevate your consciousness.
In this special 90-minute masterclass, we will use this powerful practice to activate your Tenth Body—the Radiant Body.
Your Radiant Body is your spiritual shield. When it is strong, you walk with effortless grace, magnetic confidence, and radiant health. When it is weak, we often feel tired, hidden, or disconnected. It is time to step into your royal courage and shine.
What to expect:
• Dynamic physical kriyas to build stamina
• Powerful breathwork to clear mental blocks
• Deep meditation to expand your aura
• Sacred mantras to unlock inner courage
• Extended cosmic Gong Bath for deep cellular relaxation
We will seal our practice with a therapeutic gong bath, allowing sacred sound vibrations to integrate your newly awakened energy. No prior yoga experience is needed. Come exactly as you are, and leave glowing from the inside out.
Space is limited. Reserve your mat today!
