June 2026 at Oyster Bay Yoga

Milestone

Dear Yogis,

This year, Oyster Bay Yoga is celebrating a very special milestone: 10 years of community, movement, growth, and connection 🎉

There’s something meaningful about reaching a milestone like this. Reaching ten years feels a bit like coming full circle: honoring where we started, appreciating how much has changed, and recognizing all the moments and people who helped shape the journey along the way.

Over the years we’ve shared countless classes, workshops, and events. We’ve welcomed new faces, watched friendships grow, and created a space that has become so much more than just a yoga studio. While we're celebrating ten years, this milestone belongs to our entire community because each person who has stepped through our doors has been part of the story.

We’re so grateful to celebrate this moment with all of you and we can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings. Here's to ten years... and the beautiful journey ahead!

All my best,
Amy

Pose of the Month

Urdhva Dhanurasana: Wheel Pose

This month at the studio we breakdown
Urdhva Dhanurasana: Wheel Pose.
Learn how best to practice this pose in any class all month long!

Sutra of the Month

Yoga Sutra 1.14 teaches that a practice becomes firmly grounded when it is done consistently, over a long period of time, and with sincerity or devotion. Rather than seeking quick results, this sutra reminds us that meaningful growth happens through steady effort and patience.

In a yoga practice, as well as in life, it’s less about intensity and more about showing up again and again. Small, consistent actions often create the deepest transformation.

Oil of the Month

Our June OOTM is:

Citronella Oil

“Bright, lemony, and fresh, Organic Citronella offers so much more than its crisp, uplifting aroma. Steam-distilled from organically grown Cymbopogon winterianus, this USDA Certified Organic oil is known for its powerful outdoor benefits and natural cleansing properties. Its light citrus scent with subtle woody undertones makes it a popular choice for candles, soaps, and DIY home products.

When diffused or used outdoors, Organic Citronella helps keep pesky environmental annoyances at bay, making it a favorite companion for camping, hiking, and evenings on the patio. It also makes an excellent addition to homemade surface cleaners thanks to its natural citronellol and geraniol content, which help refresh and deodorize your space.”
-Plant Therapy

Enjoy 20% off your purchase of Citronella essential oil all month at the studio.

Blindfold Yoga

Friday, June 12th
6:30-7:30pm
with Chelsea Wallander

Join Chelsea for a unique one-hour Blindfold Yoga experience designed to deepen mindfulness through the practice of pratyahara- the yogic withdrawal of the senses. By removing visual distractions, we invite the body to awaken its natural proprioception, heighten inner awareness, and cultivate a deep state of mindfulness.

Blindfold Yoga encourages gentle disconnection from the external world so you can tune into the subtle sensations of the present moment. We will move slowly and mindfully through familiar shapes and transitions, all the while noticing what shifts when we challenge our connection to our sense of sight. Suitable for all levels, this class offers a safe and grounding space to explore trust, intuition, and mindful movement in a completely new way.

Peak Pose Workshop

Friday, June 26th
6:30-8:00pm
with Angela Loomis

Ready to explore poses that challenge, inspire, and build confidence?

This workshop is designed to break down “peak poses” into accessible steps, helping you better understand the mechanics, strength, mobility, and mindset behind the practice. With individualized guidance in a supportive environment, we’ll work toward your requests of arm balances, inversions, or deeper expressions of familiar poses.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • intelligent warm-ups & preparation

  • drills and alignment techniques

  • strength, stability, and mobility work

  • modifications and prop support

  • the mental side of challenging poses

This is not about forcing your body into a shape—it’s about building awareness, curiosity, and confidence in your practice.

Intentional Listening Circle

Sunday, June 28th
6:30-8:00pm
with Kaitlyn Pawlukojc

"I will ask you questions, I will try to understand, and if you give me your story, I will hold it in my hands . . . " Revolutionary Love, Ani DiFranco

Listening is an act of compassion -- for our own selves as well as for one another.  In the practice of deep listening, we pause, become present to what is, and connect in new ways.  The intention is to listen with the "ears of your heart."

When we speak aloud our stories, the words and emotions shared weave our lives together.  This helps us remember that we are not alone and that we can learn from one another.  The encouragement is to add your uniquely colored thread to the tapestry.

Please join us once a month to engage in loving listening as we grow our community together.  The invitation is to bring what you have and ask for what you need.  All are welcome!

FREE to attend (Registration is required)
Donations are gratefully accepted

We’ll begin with a grounding, all-levels yoga flow to help you arrive and settle into the evening, then come together for a cozy and open conversation where all reflections are welcome. Bring your mat, BYO snacks and drinks, and join us for a warm and inspiring night of movement, story, and community.
